Ampi, 4th of March 2025. With the initiative of Naba Udai Sangha of Ampi Nagar Shekhar Deb Smriti Cricket Tournament Series 2025 has been accomplished successfully here in Ampi Nagar mini gallery stadium. As per the report from club secretary Bappaditya Das, the tournament series had been initiated on 27 of January 2025 where 16 teams from different places of Ampi block have participated in this youth inspiring event. In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries the wife of Lt. Shekhar Deb Champa Lata Kalai (Deb) had inaugurated the tournament series. After the initiation of the tournament series every match was entertaining and buzzing with spectators. In the final match Taicholong team has achieved the status of championship. Gamaku team has appeared as runner up. Taicholong team has obtained the championship prize Rs. 25000 and Rs. 15000 for runner up. The Naba Udai Sangha president Tapas Das has said, "In recollection of Lt. Shekhar Deb who was a panchayat secretary cum social worker we have organized this youth motivational cricket tournament series to generate inspiration amidst the local youngsters towards games and sports." During the prize distribution programme there were Sushanta Deb, son of Lt. Shekhar Deb, Joy Kumar Das, social worker, S.I B.K Laskar and many others remained present in this event. Local villagers have appreciated the initiative of this youngsters motivational event and thanked the concerned organizer authority for their good job.
